A Carmi Resident Is Going To The Diamond Awards

Gary Rayburn, a Carmi native who has been nominated for a 2019 Diamond Award for co-writing a song, “Taking Me Home” which is in the category of Christian Country Song of the Year.

A local songwriter has been announced as one of the top five nominees for the 2019 Diamond Awards and he needs your votes!

“Taking Me Home” was co-written by Carmi native Gary Rayburn of Lonesome Road Ministries and is among the top five in the category of Christian Country Song of the Year at the Diamond Awards. The song was recorded and released by the McKay Project in Columbus, Mississippi, and reached the number 1 spot in May of 2018 on the SGN Scoops Christian Country chart. 

The Diamond Awards recognize the best in Gospel music around the country for nearly 20 years. The award ceremony will be held at the Creekside Gospel Music Convention in the Smoky Mountains Convention Center on October 27-31, 2019 in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. The ceremony will be hosted by Dr. Jerry and Jan Goff along with special guests and presenters.

The awards are fan based, which means that Gary needs your votes to win. The fans are involved from the initial nominations right to the final choice of the recipient and anyone can vote by going to sgnscoops.com. Voting ends on September 15.
