Carmi man charged in felony sex abuse case

A Carmi man has been jailed on multiple sex charges following an investigation that concluded late last year.
Robert E. Crocker, 24 is being held in the Carmi-White County jail under $100,000 bond on a Class-1 felony charge of indecent solicitation of a child and two Class-2 felony charges of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
In the solicitation charge filed Dec. 15 by White County State’s Attorney Denton Aud, Crocker is accused of soliciting a juvenile under the age of 13 to have a sexual encounter.
In the two aggravated criminal sexual abuse charges, Crocker is alleged to have been at least five years older than a victim he allegedly abused sexually.
Jail records show Crocker was booked at the county lockup a little after 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 11. He remains in custody pending a bail review set for Wednesday, Jan. 27 and a preliminary hearing scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 3.
