Nathaniel Reed, 32 of Harrisburg, was arrested on August 27 for driving on a suspended license following a traffic stop in the Carmi Motel lot.

Jeffrey Parkhurst, 31 of Carmi, was arrested on August 30 for domestic battery after officers received a call from a child stating his mother was getting hit by his father. The victim signed a complaint against Parkhurst and he was taken into custody. 

On August 30, officers arrested Kaneon Highwood at a residence on 6th Street for an outstanding warrant for battery out of White County. Highwood, 19 of Carmi, was taken into custody with his bond at $150.

Paula McKay signed a complaint for fraud after she learned that someone had used her personal information to purchase iPhones from Verizon without her permission.

Joseph Tate, 19 of Carmi, was arrested on a White County warrant for Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a child (under the age of 13). The warrant stems from an investigation back in May. His bond was set at $10,000.

On August 31, Carmi Police responded to a call from a residence on Third Street reporting she had witnessed a crash, and stated that the driver fled on foot. The car registered to Kyle Burnett, 29 of Carmi. Burnett came into the police department on Monday and was arrested and charged with Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage-Personal Injury Accident. Burnett bonded out to $250.

Crystal Boaz, of Carmi, reported to police on August 31 that a small brown dog came out of a yard on Maple Street and bit her on her right leg. Animal Control Officer Linda Aud was called to the scene and spoke with Boaz. Aud met with Brandy Schneider, who cooperated with Animal Control and the dog was turned over to Aud. 

On September 1, John Murphy reported to police that his female Rottweiler was stolen. Two females arrived at his residence in Carmi and asked if they could take his dog so that they could cut the nails and examine the dog. The two females were driving a blue car and were wearing “Bruno Brush Shop” shirts. Murphy allowed the two females to take his dog, with the understanding that he would get the dog back in one hour. 

John Smith, 32 of Carmi, was arrested on September 2 for disorderly conduct after he was involved in a verbal domestic with his girlfriend in the front yard and then yelled obscenities at juveniles down the street. His bond was set at $100.

On September 2, two Carmi residents signed complaints against Doug Maker, 64 of Carmi, for disorderly conduct over landlord tenant issues after a verbal argument resulted in Maker throwing items from the porch and threatening to throw all of their belongings from the residence. A complaint was forwarded to the States Attorney.

On September 3, Phillip Burton Sr signed a complaint for criminal trespass to residence against his son, Phillip Burton Jr, 32 of Carmi, after he came into his house after being given notice from Senior as well as police. Jr left prior to the arrival of police and a complaint was forwarded to the States Attorney.
