Jason A. Locke, 38 of Carmi, was sentenced to the Illinois Department of Corrections on the morning of September 30.

Locke will be serving 6 years in the Department of Corrections and 5 years in Mandatory Supervised Release for a charge of Aggravated Battery, which is a class 3 felony, and a Domestic Battery charge, which is a class 4 felony.

Locke was on probation for the Domestic Battery when he committed the Aggravated Battery. His probation was therefore revoked, with the new sentence occurring today. Locke’s case was investigated by the Carmi Police Department. Public Defender Brian Shinkle was Locke’s representation and Judge T. Scott Webb was the presiding judge.
