Henry Simmers of CSI Insurance has been accepted at the Village of Mill Shoals' insurance provider.
Simmers provided the board with an insurance proposal that would be valid from Feb 2020 to Feb 2021.
Village Attorney Jon Turpin told the board that he was nearing completion of the Village's Golf Cart Ordinance.
Turpin stated that he needed further clarity on how the Golf Cart's would lawfully cross US HWY 45, after that the Ordinance would be complete.
Village Clerk Heath Tullis announced that the garbage rates will be going up from $12.80 to $13.20, and will be effective April 1, 2020.
In Water Department news, ILEPA conducted a compliance review on December 9. The Village was cited for not having an Emergency Operations Plan, Tullis said that he would prepare one on behalf of the Village.
Village Water Operator Wayne Carter informed the board that the water tank passed the ILEPA inspection and that it would be in the board's interest to have the tank cleaned.
President Gray asked Carter to obtain an initial estimate of how much that would cost.
Carter mentioned to the board that Schulte Supply would be sending an Associate on January 9 to help get a better cost analysis of adequately repairing the East Street Lift Station.
The Treasurer's Report, given by Village Treasurer James Murphy, explained that the W-2s would be prepared in mid-January.
In old business, the Eagle Scout Project is still underway, and the project will be finished up in the coming months.
