In this day and age, I cannot imagine how difficult it is to be a school board member or school administrator. In a “normal” school year, I suspect things run fairly smoothly except for issues surrounding bad weather, an occasional stomach bug running through one attendance center or another and of course the occasional personnel flap. Administrators and board members are trained to deal with those common issues and life goes on. These are no ordinary times. Here are a few examples of what local board members and administrators are having to deal with in these extraordinary times. 

Barely a week ago, two attendance centers in White County had to shut down operations for a day because of boiler issues. In one case, a boiler simply didn’t fire up when it was supposed to, leading to frosty classrooms and the cancellation of classes for a day. I would bet a horse...
