The Carmi Chronicle is a subsidiary of S&R Media, LLC.
S&R’s roots go back to 1995, when veteran White County newsman Patrick Seil founded The Navigator in an office in Grayville. In April 1996, The Navigator bought out the old Grayville Mercury-Independent, and in 1998, it purchased the Albion Journal-Register and its total-market-coverage sister paper, The Prairie Post.
The corporation was formed in 2001 when longtime southern Illinois publisher Jerry Reppert signed aboard as half-owner.
The Chronicle was launched in December 2016 with Seil as publisher and Brandon Siegert at the helm as editor.
J.D. Craig serves as sports editor and Connie Loyd is the Chronicle’s sales representative. Samantha Morrison is the receptionist.
The newspaper’s office is located inside the Reppert’s Office Supplies building at 105A East Main St., Carmi. The phone number is 618-382-7155.
