Coming off their first setback of the year, Trey Mason’s Bulldog golf team rebounded well by winning the Olney Invitational on Friday, September 6. CWC held off Sullivan by two strokes to win the 11-team event.
The Bulldogs had a team score of 330. Sullivan carded a 332. Olney and Paris tied for third with a 344, and Robinson rounded out the top five with a 347.
Junior Ty Barbre had the low round of the tournament, recording a 76. Oakley Gee finished in a three-way tie for third overall with 79.
“This was a really big win for us,” said Mason. “We beat 11 teams, including a good Sullivan team, that were sectional champs last year.”
“The guys battled all day,” added Mason. “They had never played the course before.”
