Thursday evening found the NCOE Junior High basketball team venturing to Grayville to take on the Jr. Bison in a non conference matchup.  This game got off to a very favorable start for NCOE as they managed to hold the 14-10 lead following one quarter of play.  The tide changed in the second quarter when turnovers played a large part for the Junior Cardinals.  This defensive letdown found the Jr. Bison outscoring NCOE 19-7 to claim the 29-21 halftime advantage.

Following halftime, the Jr. Bison went on an offensive roll as they outscored the Junior Cardinals 35-12 in the remaining two quarters to hold off NCOE by the final score of 64-33.  This loss drops the Jr. Cards to 0-2 on the young season.

The NCOE offense was led by Bryer Sauls with 11 points followed by Spencer Shipp and Zeke Baumgart with six points a piece, Nolan Prather and Dayton Tharp with four points each, and Brockton Washburn two points. When play resumed the Grayville defense stepped it up to hold the NCOE offense scoreless in the third frame to once again bring the score back to a one point advantage for the Jr. Cards.  The fourth quarter would then witness NCOE returning the favor and holding the Jr. Bison scoreless along with adding 11 more points to their total to collect their first win of the year by the final score of 30-18.
